Sans Gil and mmmm croissants

Sans-Gil
I recently snapped up a new domain. SansGil.com – seemed rather fitting with my name and I’m generally not a huge fan of Gill Sans in most context (don’t get me wrong it has its place though). So there be some more updates coming over the next couple of months.

On a more personal note, I just crossed back over the board from spending a great weekend back home for Mother’s Day which was fun. My Dad is a bit of a serious cook and I had the pleasure of fresh, home-made croissants and pain au raisin on Sunday for lunch (above) which were utterly amazing.

Oh and if anyone ever has or have had the pleasure on traveling on National Express trains, the WiFi is terrible and so slow its hardly worth the effort – enough of my rants

As I was popping by the OWL & Lion gallery in Edinburgh yesterday I had the pleasure of seeing them setting up there current show (above).

This month, the ceramics department of the Glasgow School of
Art will set up a showcase that reflects the feelings of melancholy and farewell to mark and lament the closure of this unique
arts department.

They’ve covered the entire floor in real turf and it looks and feels amazing. It’s only on till Sunday so if your in Edinburgh then go check it out today and see for your self. Hopefully there will be some more photos on the gallery website in case your unable to make it over the next week.

Regular updates at OWL & Lion Blog

I’m not a fan of Jack Johnson by any means but for some reason I really like the choice of typeface on this particular album cover. Hopefully I’m back on track for a regular post on a Friday as well – my bad for missing it last week.

Blik – Surface Graphics

Del-Oro-Bookshelf-2

Blik are an awesome company that are bringing vinyl graphics into the the home and office which I think is great. I really wanna get some of the space invaders re-usable ones. Reminds me a little of a project I just finished and another one I’m just starting.

Check Blik’s blog out as well. I love these library book graphics shown above.

I need a set of these

Dinink1-2

Someone’s obviously got their thinking cap on at work and has taken my prefered implement of tea making (a pen or whatever is to hand) and took it another couple of steps further.

Good job. [via Fubiz]

Friday!

I absolutely love the cover for Born Ruffians with the cowboy. By the looks of it is a tiny model paper cut out and was probably done by a graphic designer that’s in a popular called Tactile. If you see it have a read as there’s loads of inspiring work in it.

E&A

This is an awesome magazine called E&A with some absolutely amazing and beautiful typography and photography. There’s loads of spreads on their website from the magazine which I highly advise checking out.

Been pretty busy this week so thats the reason for the sparse posting.
